Moroccan White Modern Slavery Policy

Our Commitment

At Moroccan White, we believe that beautiful products should be made with respect for the people who create them. We are committed to conducting our business ethically, responsibly and transparently, and we oppose all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, debt bondage and child exploitation.

While Moroccan White is not currently required to publish an annual Modern Slavery Statement under Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we recognise our responsibility to take reasonable steps to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and supply chain.

Our Business

Moroccan White works closely with artisans, makers and suppliers in Morocco to source handcrafted homewares, textiles, ceramics and lifestyle products. We value long-term relationships built on trust, fairness and mutual respect, and we seek to work with partners who share our commitment to ethical working practices and human rights.

Our Expectations of Suppliers

We expect all suppliers, artisans, manufacturers and business partners to:

  • Comply with all applicable employment, labour and health and safety laws.
  • Ensure that all work is undertaken voluntarily and without coercion.
  • Prohibit forced, bonded or involuntary labour.
  • Not engage in human trafficking or any form of modern slavery.
  • Not employ children below the legal working age.
  • Provide safe and respectful working conditions.
  • Treat workers fairly, with dignity and respect.
  • Pay workers in accordance with applicable laws and agreed terms.
  • Maintain business practices that support ethical and responsible employment.

Due Diligence

As part of our commitment to ethical sourcing, we seek to build relationships with suppliers who share our values. When establishing new supplier relationships, we may request information about working practices and require suppliers to confirm their commitment to operating free from modern slavery and human trafficking.

Where concerns are identified, we will engage with suppliers to seek clarification and, where appropriate, take corrective action. We reserve the right to end business relationships with suppliers found to be involved in modern slavery, human trafficking or other serious labour rights violations.

Reporting Concerns

We encourage employees, suppliers, contractors and other stakeholders to raise any concerns regarding suspected modern slavery, human trafficking or exploitative labour practices connected with our business or supply chain.

Any concerns raised will be taken seriously and reviewed appropriately.
