Our story
Moroccan White was established in 2015 by Andrew Mole. Its origins trace back to Andrew's decision to set up a market stall at Portobello market in Notting Hill, driven by his deep passion for promoting the exquisite craftsmanship and beauty found in Moroccan artisan products.
Andrew's connection with Morocco began at the age of 25 (he’s a little bit older now!) and, over the years, he has leveraged his extensive experience of living in and visiting the country to meticulously source the highest-quality Moroccan artisan homewares.
The early years at Portobello were an education in the life of a market trader: full of excitement and challenges. This experience and the distinct character of Portobello market facilitated Moroccan White's growth, both locally and globally.
Today, Moroccan White takes pride in serving customers worldwide with our unique assortment of premium curated items.
Andrew made a pivotal career change in leaving the music industry, which he felt had become too invested in promoting uniformity. He aspired to bring authentic artistic creations directly to the public, without dependence on major players. This led him on a journey across Morocco in search of the most skilled artisans, working in fields ranging from rugs, ceramics, textiles and leather goods to mouth-blown glassware and wooden objects.
Moroccan White's mission is to provide a thoughtfully curated selection of artisanal homewares, with design and quality that is far beyond what can be offered by larger companies. Many of our items are one-of-a-kind.
We work with artisans to ensure that our products are of an excellent quality, produced sustainably and fairly. We do all we can to minimise our impact on the environment throughout our entire process.
We are now focused on developing a captivating emporium of curated artisanal homewares for you to enjoy, as we continue a journey that has been a rewarding labour of love.
